Sable Creek Press began in 2002 as an  independent publisher of works primarily focused on a Christian worldview.  The company is owned by Janet Shay and is operated from her private office in Glendale, Arizona.

In addition to publishing traditional works, we also consult and serve as support to lesser known authors who have specific needs for their publishing projects.

Publishing From a Christian Worldview "For Such a Time As This"

SABLE CREEK PRESS LLC
INDEPENDENT  PUBLISHER

S INCE  2002

LOCATION: Glendale, Arizona
PRESIDENT: Janet Shay

WHAT WE DO
  • We publish books, audio books, and supplemental materials from a Biblical Christian worldview. While we do not require a direct Christian theme, works must not promote a message that conflicts with the traditional Christian perspective--Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the Bible as the inspired Word of God. We do not accept manuscripts about time travel, the paranormal, science fiction, or witchcraft.

CURRENT NEEDS
  • We are currently ONLY CONSIDERING STORIES FOR MIDGRADE CHILDREN (ages 8-12). We are looking specifically for the following:
  • Historical fiction.
  • Biographies about famous people.
  • Stories about people who perform specific skills or jobs (i.e. artists, leather crafters, musicians, gymnasts, etc. This area is open to a wide range of possibilities and the more unique and interesting subject matter the better.
  • Educational supplements—usually substantially less than book length—as long as the author shows a specific need and/or has a market in mind.
COMPANY
  • We are an independent company working with a staff of FREELANCE PROFESSIONAL book designers, editors, audio book narrators from across the nation.

PUBLISHING MODEL
  • We pay the full cost of bringing your book to print. Our authors do not pay a fee to have their books published with Sable Creek Press.
  • EXPECTATIONS
  • We expect our authors to play a MAJOR role in marketing their books. Lesser known authors do best when they have venues in which  they can make direct sales. Please understand that your book will not sell itself. If you do not have or do not plan to establish a social presence as an author, we cannot help you with major sales of your book. We are a small company and our marketing budget is limited. We do, however, allow our authors to purchase unlimited copies of their book at a discounted price when the author wishes to sell through speaking engagements, school appearances, etc.

PRINTING AND DISTRIBUTION

  • We print primarily through a respected POD (Print on Demand) printer who distributes our books online through Ingram, Amazon, Christian Book Distributors, Barnes & Noble online, libraries, and other available resources. Because we focus on lesser known and beginning authors, our books are not found in major chain bookstores.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR STORY IDEA
  • Please email us with your story idea. Include the following: a short biography of yourself, a synopsis of your story, and what encouraged you to write this particular story. At that point, we will reply and let you know whether we are interested in viewing your entire manuscript. Please understand that a possible request for more information does not guarantee our acceptance of your story. It is merely one more step in the process. We look forward to hearing from you.
